If you're a fan of old-school video games, you'll be delighted to know there's a new game from the Fast & Furious franchise - and it is free to play. The 8-bit game is relatively simple to play and allows the player to control three vehicles on different stages (Los Angeles, Rio de Janeiro, and Rome).

The objective is simple. Controlling the vehicle with the left and right arrow keys, your mission is to navigate around traffic and obstacles, including bombs, Jason Momoa's wrecking ball, and potholes. Along the way, you can pick up cash, NOS bottles, and power-ups that give you a temporary speed boost. You can also use the shift key to change gears.

A time limiter keeps things exciting and challenges the player to complete the stage as quickly as possible.

The top-down perspective puts one in mind of the older Grand Theft Auto video games. In the first stage, you take control of a motorcycle. If you manage to reach the finish line in time, you're upgraded to different muscle cars, one of which is presumably Dom Toretto's Dodge Charger.

A variety of sound effects can be heard, depending on the stage. Michelle Rodriguez, who plays Letty in the series, can be heard saying, "We have to fight," and "Game recognizes game." Vin Diesel also gets in on the fun and delivers lines in a dramatic way. Each stage is separated by clips from the movies.

It's by no means the racing game to end all racing games, but it is a fun way to drum up excitement for the tenth installment of the series.

The latest trailer is rather ominous and suggests that a beloved character may make the ultimate sacrifice. We've previously suggested that one of the main characters, Dom Toretto or Letty Ortiz, could meet with their death in the next movie. As a reminder, Fast X will hit theaters on May 19.

We can expect the usual from the latest installment. From physics-defying stunts, dramatic car chases, and plenty of drama, the new movie will certainly enthrall some moviegoers - and cause others to roll their eyes. Over the years, the series has featured myriad iconic cars, the most notable of which is Paul Walker's R34 Skylines. Recently, the example he piloted in 2009's Fast & Furious sold for $1,180,000, a record for an R34 Skyline GT-R.
