Redesigned for the 2022 model year, the all-new Subaru BRZ is one of the most affordable rear-wheel-drive sports cars on the market with a starting price of $27,995 excluding destination charges. That makes it a sports car bargain when you consider it doesn't cost much more than the outgoing model despite its wealth of improvements. That said, the price hikes up as soon as you start adding options. If you want to find out how much all the optional extras cost, the online configurator for the 2022 Subaru BRZ is now live.

Two trims are available for the 2022 Subaru BRZ: Limited Premium and Limited. The former starts at $27,995 while the latter will set you back $30,495. Regardless of the trim, power is sourced from a new 2.4-liter boxer four-cylinder engine rated at 228 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque.

As standard, the Premium trim comes with leather-trimmed upholstery, 18-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires, heated front seats, and LED headlights. Since it's designed for pure driving pleasure, the BRZ lets you row your own gears with a six-speed manual. If you prefer an automatic, Subaru also offers a six-speed automatic for an extra $1,800. Seven exterior colors are available: WR Blue Pearl, Crystal Black Silica, Magnetite Gray Metallic, Ignition Red, Ice Silver Metallic, Sapphire Blue, and Crystal White Pearl, each available at no extra cost.

For the interior, black with red accents is your only option. While there are no available packages, Subaru offers 44 accessories for the 2022 BRZ that bump up the price considerably if you add every option.

Accessories range from an auto dimming mirror ($355) to pet-friendly items such as a medium harness ($79,99), medium travel bowl ($39.99), and a mobile pet bed ($199.99). Subaru also sells a range of STI-branded extras such as a door handle cup protector ($29.95), leather shift knob ($215), push engine switch ($245.95), and under spoilers for the front ($399.95), rear quarters ($339.95), and sides ($499.95).

If you want to make your BRZ look more aggressive, you can add a rear bumper diffuser ($699.95), trunk spoiler ($349.95), and front fender vent accent ($139.95). In total, our fully loaded 2022 Subaru BRZ came to $39,163 including destination charges.
