The 2022 Porsche Cayman GT4 RS was revealed just hours ago. Like the regular Cayman GT4, it compels Porsche fans to question whether the bigger 911 is necessary. The Cayman GT4 is already an astounding driver's car but the GT4 RS significantly raises the bar with its 493-horsepower boxer-six powerplant from the 911 GT3. An even more powerful Clubsport version for the track has also been revealed. At a starting price of $141,700, the Cayman GT4 RS isn't cheap but as we just found out, it's possible to spend much more on this spicy coupe. That's because the configurator for the GT4 RS just went live and we had a blast configuring this Porsche with nearly every available extra.

Because this car doesn't make a secret of its performance intentions, we chose to spec ours in vivid Shark Blue paint for $3,540. We then added the 20-inch forged magnesium wheels. On their own, these wheels cost a whopping $15,640 but they can only be specified in conjunction with the $13,250 Weissach Package and other extras that add $31,050 to the price.

Speaking of the Weissach Package, it adds exposed carbon fiber inside and out. Inside, we went for the leather/Race-Tex interior with Deep Sea Blue stitching which is included with the package. As this is an RS, we skipped the 18-way adaptive sports seats and kept the full buckets instead. If you want a comfy Porsche, get a 911 or even a Cayenne.

The Weissach Package is the only major package on offer, but there are numerous standalone extras. Window triangle trims in carbon fiber ($730), a bespoke decal set ($1,350, but not reflected in the configurator images), the Chrono Package ($310), and ceramic brakes ($8,000) are some of the other extras we added. A front axle lift system is useful and goes for $3,040. Inside, we added a 3D-printed bodyform full bucket driver's seat ($3,890) and a painted climate control panel ($780), at which point we surpassed $200,000. Finally, we added a Bose sound system for $990. There are other combinations that may increase the price further, but our build came to a jaw-dropping $207,900 including the delivery charge. That's nearly exactly the same price as a new 911 Turbo S.
