Galpin GTR1 Roaring Away From Pebble Beach

Tuning

Finally, some beautiful sounds to go with the beautiful sights from Pebble Beach.

It might be tempting to think of the Galpin GTR1 prototype, recently unveiled at Pebble Beach, as just a Ford GT with some refreshed bodywork. While this might be technically true, it is important to remember the engine has also been updated. The new vision for the GT produces 1,197 horsepower from a 5.4-liter V8 which has had its supercharger, given to it by Ford in the original, replaced by a pair of turbochargers.

Previous stories about the car might not have inspired you to appreciate the engine quite as much as the new body, so in an effort to fix that, we bring you a video of the car starting up and driving off.
