Geely McCar To Come With Electric Scooter In The Trunk

Geely

Chinese automaker Geely, which displayed their McCar concept at the recent Shanghai Auto Show, is hoping the introduction of something different may become the next big idea. The McCar concept not only has enough seating for four, the two-door Geely also has a folding three-wheeled electric scooter that can be packed away in the trunk. Available with either a 12kWh battery or as a hybrid, the McCar may actually turn out to be an interesting solution to crowded cities.

The battery version has a 93 mile range and has a top speed of 52 mph with a six-hour recharging time. The 8kWh plug-in hybrid can go on 31 miles of electric power and 373 miles on gas and battery with a top speed of 80 mph. It has a two-hour recharge time. The scooter can go up to 18 mph, has an 18 mile range, and takes two-hours to charge. If the scooter isn't something you want, a fold-up wheelchair is also an option. Geely, who recently bought Volvo from Ford, is seriously considering putting the McCar into production sometime in the very near future.
