Gemballa Builds World's Fastest Porsche Panamera: The 720 GTP

Those guys do know a thing or two about Porsche tuning.

You can get your Porsche tuned at a lot of different places. The cars have tons of potential, and are relatively inexpensive enough that a tuning shop can specialize in just the one Stuttgart brand without having to worry about a lack of customers. And while Gemballa does work a bit on McLarens, it is in the world of Porsche tuning where it is an unqualified leader. Indeed, it has just built a Porsche Panamera that has set the record for the fastest in the world.

This record comes from a lap time of 1:37.08 around the Sachsenring, faster than any Panamera ever. Not only this, but it has also clocked a 0-62 time of 3.2 seconds, a full second faster than stock. A 0-124 mph time of 9.7 seconds, 3 seconds faster than stock. And finally, a 0-186 mph time of 26.4 seconds, which is a massive 33.6 seconds faster than stock. As the name implies, the Gemballa 720 GTP is packing 720 horsepower. This is impressive, but the tuner says that it isn't the outright horsepower which makes the car quick, and that its real strength lies in its flattened torque curve.
