Better get out of the way then.
Renowned sports car tuner Gemballa is set to release its latest mad Porsche-based project, the GTR 8XX EvoR BiTurbo, posting a few performance stats on its Instagram account to build up some hype. The tuner may not have quite cracked the whole naming thing yet, but it sure knows a thing or two about how to tune a 911.
While there are no details yet as to what has been done to the 3.8-liter twin-turbo motor to achieve that mental 818 hp power figure, it is a full 278 hp more than what the standard 991-generation 911 Turbo comes with and as far as we know, no one has ever accused it of being a bit tardy off the line.
Thanks to that massive power hike and an equally impressive 809 lb-ft of torque (the standard car makes do with a mere 486 lb-ft), the GTR 8XX should be good for a 2.38-second 0-62 mph time. That is right up there with the 918 Spyder and will eclipse seriously quick supercars like the 710-hp McLaren 720S as well.
The 0-186 mph time of 17.4-seconds is also modern supercar fast and the top speed potential is said to be in excess of 230 mph. If the previous generation 997-based GTR 750 is anything to go by, this new model should have no trouble matching these bold claims. It will be even rarer than most supercars too as only 88 examples will be built.
Gemballa also states that it only publishes power output at the wheels, so if this is the case for the 8XX EvoR then those numbers may be up to 15 percent higher if measured at the crank. Aside from these acceleration and power figures we have but a handful of images to go on before tomorrow's reveal.
Suffice it to say, matching this modded 991-generation 911 Turbo up to some equally overpowered rivals is going to result in some epic YouTube footage.
