Generation Gap Asks: Was The Chevy SSR Any Worse Than The El Camino?

Comparison

We tend to think it was, and then some.

The Chevy El Camino was really one of those love-it-or-hate-it kinds of cars. It has a rabid following of fans, but it's not difficult to find those who think of it as a joke. The public seems a little bit less divided about the more modern SSR though. The car fared poorly when it came to sales, and lasted only a fraction of the time that the El Camino did before being killed off. But now Motor Trend's Generation Gap takes a step back to look at both.

They are similarly odd, so an objective look at the two side by side just might change your mind. Or perhaps not, but you'll have to watch to know either way.
