Luxury automaker Genesis has announced the expansion of its electric vehicle sales in America, with customers in seven more states now able to purchase the company's ever-growing range of posh EVs.

The quirky GV60, along with the sophisticated Electrified GV70 and Electrified G80, can now be purchased in Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina. This comes just days after the Hyundai-owned brand revealed it would offer its battery-powered models in six more states, including Texas, Louisiana, and Massachusetts.

For now, the marque's electric offerings are available in 22 states across the country, but the company has every intention of marketing its EVs across all 50 states before 2030. Judging by the automaker's rate of progress, it will happen much sooner than that.

"In only 10 months, we have introduced our first three EV models and have expanded sales to 22 states, representing important steps on our path to achieving full electrification by 2030," said Genesis North America's Claudia Marquez.

Genesis only became an independent brand in 2015 but intends to embrace the fast-approaching electric future. Currently, there are only three electric models in the Korean automaker's lineup. There are plans to expand this, though, with Genesis toying with the idea of introducing a production version of the Mint concept car. Sadly, if it comes to fruition, the compact luxury EV will be aimed at the European market.

There's also a good chance that the seductively attractive Genesis X Concept will also make the cut for production.

Genesis' staggered approach may be confusing to some, but the company has a strategy in place to ensure customers remain satisfied. The company told CarBuzz that the "expansion is very deliberate, and we're making sure there's enough product availability ... we're making sure dealers are onboard and going through the EV certification process. Genesis EVs will be sold everywhere Genesis vehicles are sold."

At the moment, you can purchase a Genesis electric vehicle (from select dealers) in the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.

"We're pleased to make our electric lineup available to even more customers across the United States who have eagerly awaited a Genesis EV," added Marquez.
