Genesis has continued to expand the sales reach of its flagship Electrified G80 sedan as part of its goal for a fully electrified lineup by 2030.

The South Korean luxury carmaker has announced the Electrified G80 is now available for sale in four additional states: Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Virginia. It has already been for sale in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Utah, and Washington. In all twelve states, just one configuration is offered, with pricing beginning at $79,825.

"We are pleased to offer our growing lineup of electric models to an expanded audience of American consumers," said Claudia Marquez, chief operating officer of Genesis Motor North America. "Customers have been waiting patiently to get into a new Electrified G80 executive sedan. We are delighted to expand the availability of this model today in four more states."

Compared to the standard non-electric G80, the Electrified G80 is distinguished by a unique G-Matrix pattern with an integrated charging port, 19-inch wheels, and a different rear bumper design. Step inside, and you'll find a more sustainable, eco-friendly leather and fabric interior with optional forged wood trim. The gorgeous Matira Blue exterior color and Dark Lagoon Green/Glacier White interior are exclusive to the electrified model.

The Electrified G80 comes with a dual-motor setup for a total of 365 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, resulting in a 0 to 60 mph time of 4.9 seconds. The 87.2 kWh battery pack delivers an estimated range of 282 miles on a full charge. A 350 kW DC fast charger enables a charging time of just 22 minutes from 10% to 80%. Home charging is another option, but that requires seven hours to accomplish.

Equally important, owners will benefit from the brand's partnership with Electrify America, translating to three years of free 30-minute charging sessions beginning from the purchase date.

Other notable luxury features include a power door and trunk lid closing capability, rain-sensing wipers, and rear cabin sunshades. Drivers enjoy a 14.5-inch infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a navigation system, and a sweet-sounding Lexicon Premium sound system.

Driver assistance features include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, and Highway Driving Assist. What's optional? Just two things: metallic and pearl paint ($575) or matte paint ($1,500).

Looking ahead, Genesis will soon launch the Electrified GV70 and, hopefully, a production-spec version of the gorgeous X Speedium concept.
