More precisely, 5 special editions are heading to the Oscars.
Genesis has just revealed five special editions of its G90 flagship sedan that will be unveiled this week just prior to this year’s Academy Awards. Genesis teamed up with Vanity Fair for the project, and the G90s will be joined by the five inaugural Special Edition cars that debuted at the 2017 Academy Awards. According to Genesis, each “G90 was designed to arrive in character at the iconic Vanity Fair Oscar Party, and to serve as transportation for an award nominee or influencer.”
Each G90 is sort of a project of its own, with each one given its own name. First up is “A Touch of Sensibility,” which has been finished in warm light silver and matte cocoa brown. Brown Nubuck leather and desert sand Nappa leather adorn the interior. Next is “Stardust,” and it’s sparkling! Seriously, there are deep flakes of dark gray in the exterior paint. “Emerald Dream” is finished in contemporary hunter green and dark brown, while its interior features a geometric pattern in green leather. The “Ruler” is brick-red and gray with a red Nubuck leather interior. Lastly, there’s “Refined Understatement,” painted dark blue and matte white, and with a dotted piping and refined finish to the black Nubuck and Nappa leathers.
“The 2018 G90 collection has been designed to honor the glamour of Hollywood and break automotive color and trim boundaries,” said executive vice president Luc Donckerwolke, head of Genesis Design. “These special editions are just the beginning of what we can imagine for ultimate Genesis tailored luxury.” Following the ceremony, all five G90s will be shipped to Seoul, South Korea, and will be displayed at Genesis Gangnam and other future brand events.
