There have been rumors Genesis is planning to launch a stylish coupe SUV version of the GV80, the automaker's first luxury SUV. Nothing has been officially announced yet, but the GV80 Coupe has possibly leaked in an official Genesis video. In the video, Chief Creative Officer Luc Donckerwolke, Senior Exterior Designer Samir Sadikhov, and Design Operations Director Hans Lapine discuss the design revolution of the Korean brand.

One brief shot shows a shelf filled with scale model design concepts, and the fourth model - the one at the end of the second row looks like a coupe SUV. There's a good chance this is our first look at the Genesis GV80 coupe.

The model is shown from a distance, but it has a more steeply sloped rear than the regular GV80. This means the GV80 coupe will have less headroom for rear passengers, but the resulting design should look more elegant than the regular SUV. The GV80 has already proven popular, so Genesis will be banking on its coupe sibling to steal some sales from the Mercedes-GLE Coupe, BMW X6, and Porsche Cayenne Coupe.

Under the hood, the GV80 coupe will share the same engine options as the regular SUV including a 2.5-liter turbo good for 300 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque and a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 rated at 375 hp and 391 lb-ft of torque.

Expect the GV80 coupe to be more expensive than the regular model, which starts at $48,900. Development of the GV80 Coupe was reportedly already underway back in July, so it shouldn't be long until we start seeing camouflaged prototypes undergoing testing to get a closer look at the design.

On the bottom shelf is another mystery design concept that looks unlike any model in the automaker's current lineup. This could be the rumored GV90 that will serve as the brand's flagship SUV and take on large luxury electric SUVs like the Cadillac Escalade IQ.
