Genesis has one of the best-looking sedans around in the G70, and the Shooting Brake version is just as cool. The company knows that this is one of its best designs and considered turning the attractive sedan into a coupe at one point, but we're yet to see such a thing hit the streets. While cost and consumer interest play a big role in what can be done in the real world, the virtual world of gaming is far more easygoing, and Genesis has now revealed a range of new concepts that look absolutely insane. Designed in collaboration with the Gran Turismo video game series, these are wild.

The two new concepts were unveiled at Monterey Car Week, along with a few other concepts that were shown to show-goers via a virtual reality headset.

The concepts include the California-built Genesis G70 GR4 Gran Turismo based on the regular G70 sedan and the Vision Gran Turismo Concept, a two-door based on the Genesis X concept. Additionally, at the even, another concept called the G70 GR3 Concept concept was shown. All of these "explore the brand's motorsport future" and "give consumers a preview of upcoming motorsport designs".

SangYup Lee, Genesis design boss, says, "The G70 GR4 GT builds on the existing G70 model to create a bold, yet elegant, high-performance racing vehicle. We are pleased to be presenting this vehicle and others as we explore the brand's entry into motorsport." This California-built racer reimagines the G70 sedan for competition but looks like it was always meant for the racetrack.

The Vision Gran Turismo concept pictured here is just one of three designs that were shown to guests, who were asked to experience them via VR, with each focusing on a different aspect of design. GR1 Alpha DB showcased Athletic Elegance while GR1 Bravo_GB represented function and beauty working in unison in what Genesis calls a "sophisticated sculpture." GR1 Chartlie_ET focused on technical precision and the "tension, athleticism, and performance that is embedded into all Genesis products."

With Genesis exploring motorsport designs, we're hoping that we'll soon see some high-performance BMW rivals make their way to production. Before then, however, we'll likely experience these concepts in the upcoming Gran Turismo 7 game.
