The all-new 2021 Genesis GV80 luxury SUV is a big deal for the South Korean luxury brand. Not only is it Genesis' first SUV but it also heralds a new design language era. There's no question the likes of BMW, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, and Lexus have taken note. We've already declared the GV80 as having a best-in-class interior and, apparently, Genesis is taking a page right out of BMW regarding exterior modifications.

Korea's Auto Post has learned Genesis is preparing a "Genuine Parts" subpage inside its South Korean market website. Items like a carbon rear diffuser (pictured below) will be included. Interestingly enough, Genesis isn't quite ready to reveal these parts to even its home market; within just a few minutes of the webpage going live it was suddenly taken down. Someone must have noticed the mistake.

But the good news is that screenshots were taken before the site's removal. Also, the Genesis GV80 homepage recently had information regarding upcoming new options sold as genuine parts. So, in other words, components like a high-performance carbon diffuser and carbon front skirt are more than likely coming relatively soon. Will they reach American shores? It'd be surprising if they didn't. BMW has managed to earn tidy profits from selling owners additional components, thus proving there's a market. If Genesis wants to lure away customers who typically flock to the German brands, then it'll have to compete where necessary.

We're still waiting for official US-spec details such as available engines and pricing, but word has it sales will get underway this summer.

Expect a starting price of around $50,000. More than likely, American buyers will have a choice of two engines, either a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder or a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6. Rear-wheel-drive will be standard and all-wheel drive an option. More than likely, only after these vital details are announced will we know whether or not the Genuine Parts program will come stateside.
