Geneva 2011: 2012 Volkswagen Tiguan

The new face of the 2012 Volkswagen Tiguan has made its big reveal at this week's Geneva Motor Show. Immediately, the changes are noticeable and they include a refreshed front end where we can see the German automaker's new distinctive design. The grille itself now looks like that found on the new Jetta and Passat, and sports a pair of horizontal chrome strips. The Tiguan is also coming available with three trim levels: S, SE, and SEL.

The top of the line SEL trim gets you some upgraded headlights with Bi-Xenon lamps and an LED treatment that's found almost everywhere. Also included with the SEL trim are some new 19-inch "Savannah" wheels designed by R GmbH. The interior also has some updated material choices and a lot of new standard features like an eight-speaker sound system and heated side-view mirrors. The engine remains the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, and the fuel economy has also been boosted.
