We recently reported that Nissan had a big treat in store for us when the time came for the opening of the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, and now the time has finally come. Nissan unveiled its new electric sports car concept to the media, and it's named the Esflow. The Esflow features a bespoke rear-drive platform and electric components from the Leaf. It also has a similar profile to the 370Z, but its design is a mix of futuristic inspirations from the 360Z and Leaf.

The motivation for this fancy Leaf comes from a pair of electric motors located near the rear axle, each independently controlling a wheel for optimized torque distribution and stability. The 0 to 62 mph time is just 5 seconds, while the range from its lithium-ion battery pack it approximately 150 miles (same as the Leaf). Nissan states that the Esflow will help determine how the sports car of the future might look, but sources has stated that Nissan is looking to the public's engagement with the concept while it's on display in Geneva.
