After breaking the first pictures of the new Renegade the other day, our Geneva Motor Show team has some live shots of the new Jeep from the show floor. Up close and in person, with playful color schemes and lots of plastic cladding, the Renegade doesn't look all that unappealing. The brand's first small SUV, Renegade still shows much of its Italian (more Fiat, less Maserati) heritage, but there is a lot of Jeep in its genes as well.
As a global car for Fiat-Chrysler, the Renegade will fit up to 16 powertrain combinations. However, the US will receive only two engine options: a 160 horsepower, 1.4-liter turbo four with six-speed manual, and a 184hp, 2.4-liter four-cylinder with a nine-speed automatic transmission. It will also get two choices of all-wheel drive systems: full-time Active Drive and Active Drive Low, which adds low range with a 20:1 crawl ratio. In the latter model, Jeep's Selec-Terrain traction control will offer Auto, Snow, Sport and Sand/Mud options.
