Maserati's stunning Alfieri concept, unveiled today at the Geneva Motor Show, reveals a new styling language that Maserati says will carry on to its future models. Speaking to the head of design for Maserati/Alfa Romeo, our team in Geneva was told about the concept's six month styling project, turning the idea- inspired by the 1950s A6 GCS- into a usable car with a 4.7-liter V-8. Design features include grille-integrated headlights- first shown on the company's Kubang SUV Concept.
Maserati officials say they are waiting for press and potential-customer feedback before determining whether the car will enter production, much as they did with the Alfa 4C a few years ago. Much like a beautiful, classy Italian lady, the anniversary concept doesn't scream sexy, but you can't take your eyes off her. If brought to production, the Alfieri could become the inspiration for the 2016 or 2017 Jaguar F-Type fighting Gran Sport model. And that's something you would look forward waking up to each morning.
