Less than 24 hours after team captain Philip Lahm lofted the famous golden trophy above his head, Volkswagen has paid tribute to its native Germany’s World Cup success by recreating Mario Goetze’s stunning extra-time goal using virtual Golf GTIs. After smashing Brazil 7-1 in the semi-final the German carmaker was probably so confident of Germany running out winners at the Estadio Maracana it instructed its marketing department to create the video to celebrate the inevitable triumph.

Or they've been really busy for the last 12 hours.
