The Lexus LFA is a supercar that managed to win the hearts of almost every gearhead thanks to its eye-catching design and unmistakable V10 engine. The cult-classic product was only available for about two years until its production ended in 2013 but now we are about to be treated to an all-new generation.

Posted on its official UK Instagram account are three images of the upcoming all-electric Lexus supercar, in concept guise, which the caption confirms is inspired by the LFA. The Electrified Sport concept is described to be a hint of the Toyota Group's future battery-electric product and not the final iteration.

However, further down in the comments section, the account clarifies that Lexus will develop a next-generation battery EV performance car that will inherit the driving taste, or "secret sauce", of the art of performance that was refined via the development of the LFA almost a decade ago. The account goes on to say that the goal is to continue to offer an exhilarating experience to its customer base.

It hopes to do so by using electrification technology to max out the potential of its car. Lexus will further develop the fundamentals of the electric supercar and continue to pursue its unique driving signature through developing the battery-electric architecture. These developments will then filter through to later products.

The Lexus Electrified Sport concept was unveiled together with a series of upcoming EV products from the Toyota group. Acting as the poster child of the new direction for the premium arm, very little information regarding this highly anticipated model is available but it has been suggested that it will hit the streets before 2030.

Design-wise, the concept sticks to the true sports car proportions with a long hood structure, short rear end, and overhangs, and compact passenger compartment. Distinctive visual features include the razor-sharp headlamp design that is integrated just above the side air intakes and a rather dramatic hood design with two outlets positioned at either side. A dramatic front splitter channels air through to these hood vents.
