The 2020 Corvette is officially stepping aside to make way for the 2021 model, with Chevrolet having launched the online Build & Price tool for the 2021 Corvette just this week. Of course, this doesn't mean that GM has already converted its Bowling Green Assembly Plant over to 2021 production; that changeover isn't expected to take place until the end of the year. But if you were hoping to sneak in an order for a 2020 Corvette, that ship has sailed.

That's quite all right, because the 2021 Corvette is the beneficiary of some small yet meaningful tweaks that make it an even better buy.

And that brings us to the first thing that's worth checking out in the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette Build & Price tool: the new exterior paint options. For the new model year, Silver Flare Metallic takes the place of Blade Silver Metallic, and Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat replaces Long Beach Red Metallic Tintcoat. The former two colors were/are available at no extra cost, while the latter two represent $995 options.

Both colors look outstanding on the new 2021 Corvette, and the new configurator allows you to check them out with an expanded range of optional double racing stripe and stinger stripe packages, too.

In addition, there's a striking new interior color combo to be had with the 3LT trim - Sky Cool Gray/Strike Yellow - and a couple of notable changes underneath the skin. MagneRide magnetorheological dampers are now available as a standalone option, for instance, where before they were only available with the Z51 Performance Package, and Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on all trims.

If you're ready to get lost in all the myriad options the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette has to offer, you can find them in the new configurator over on Chevrolet.com.
