Before the new Honda Civic Type R takes on the eighth-generation Golf R in 2022, sales of the sportier Civic Si will begin later this year. Originally, deliveries of the new Civic Si were supposed to start this month. According to the latest intel from the Civic 11 Forum, customer deliveries for the 2022 Civic Si in the US will begin in November and December.

A few dealers have "recently confirmed that their first customer-ordered Si's are showing up on orders and scheduled to arrive in November" according to a post on the forum.

The official debut could happen this week, as another source claims Honda will reveal the new Civic Si "any day now."

When it goes on sale, the new Civic Si will be offered in Crystal Black Pearl, Aegean Blue Metallic, Sonic Gray Pearl, Rallye Red, Platinum White Pearl, and Blazing Orange Pearl colors. The latter is a new finish only available for the Civic Si that we're hoping will look as good as the 2022 Civic prototype that was presented in Solar Flare Pearl orange. Unlike the regular model, which is available either as a hatchback or a sedan, the Civic Si will only be sold as a sedan.

Under the hood will be the same turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine as its standard sibling, boosted to produce over 200 horsepower.

For reference, the current Civic Si is rated at 205 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque. Also expect the suspension to be tweaked for a sportier driving experience. As for the pricing, the new Civic Si will carry a premium over the current range-topping Civic Sedan Touring, which starts at $28,300. After the Civic Si debuts, the new Civic Type R will break cover at some point next year. It will be the end of an era as this will be the last Civic Type R without an electrified powertrain.
