Glickenhaus Adds Some Carbon Fiber to the Competizione

Motorsport

Why? Because James Glickenhaus can. Can you blame him really? The American investor has been working on a little bit of bad ass-ness to his customized Ferrari P4/5 Competizione design. More specifically, he's adding some carbon fiber. Lots of it. Using a re-bodied F430, the Glickenhaus team seems to have completed a carbon fiber shell. The intention is to race the completed car at the 24 Hours of Nurburgring and having as lightweight as this will certainly help.

The carbon fiber not only provides lightweight, but also the increased strength that's needed in order to handle the challenging endurance race. Judging by these photos that were released on Facebook, there's also a roll cage in place with a majority of Pininfarina's original show car design remaining intact. No exact completion date has been given, but we can likely expect to see the car ready for the next 24 Hours of Nurburgring this coming spring.
