This one is about 10 years too late, guys.
If you’re one of the small handful of people who bought the Hummer H3, listen up. GM has issued a recall for 196,000 H3s (2006 to 2010) and H3Ts (2009 to 2010). The issue stems from a connector module found in the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) system that is in charge of the blower motor speed. This unit can overheat after extended periods of use, causing it to melt and upping the chance of fire. GM has connected three burns to this issue, hence the recall.
We have always been pretty hard on the H3 here at CarBuzz. As an SUV it’s not so bad and is quite capable. That being said the timing of its release didn’t help (financial crisis), nor did the fact that it deviated so far away from the admittedly ridiculous Hummer brand.
