We are currently living through one of the greatest eras in automotive design, and the proliferation of digital design programs means that significantly more people have the ability to try their hand at coming up with something new. One of our favorite social media design accounts has to be the official Instagram account for GM Design. Not only does it cover upcoming models such as the highly anticipated GMC Hummer EV, but it also shares never-before-seen models from the past, sometimes with wild interior designs. One of its latest posts features an awesome-looking GMC SUV that was designed back in 2018 by Ben Zavala, and we're thoroughly impressed.

GMC is a brand that mostly keeps itself busy with SUVs. The current lineup includes cars such as the Acadia, Terrain, and the popular Yukon SUV, with the Hummer EV SUV coming late in 2023. Currently, the brand is keeping itself busy with the refreshed Sierra 1500 pickup, but we could see this rendering by Zavala rolling off the production line in the near future. The rough design shows off a muscular SUV design that features comically oversized wheels, and massively angular lines. The grille is plastered with the GMC logo, but unlike the brand's current curvaceous lineup, this SUV shows off a set of slim headlights, a sharp roofline, and a sleek glasshouse.

There is no work on what could power this cool-looking machine, but we can totally imagine it sharing its powertrain with the upcoming Hummer EV. The Hummer EV promises explosive performance, and even in its least powerful trim will still deliver 625 horsepower and 7,400 lb-ft of torque thanks to two electric motors. In its most powerful form, the Hummer EV will deliver a massive 830 hp and 11,500 lb-ft of torque, with the 0-60 mph sprint taking only 3.5 seconds. Gone are the days when GMC stood for drowsy SUVs; the future is looking bright for this GM brand.
