Goodbye to the VW Routan?

Sources from Volkswagen have stated recently that the fate of the Routan is still up in the air. The re-branded Chrysler minivan is rumored to be receiving less than enthusiastic support from VW's current management, and the ambivalence could be a clear indication of the bleack future this vehicle is probably facing. For the time being, VW is concentrating on launching its latest Jetta and building a factory in Tennessee to assemble the majority of its U.S. market cars.

Volkswagen has set a goal for itself of tripling U.S. sales numbers, and that means the car company is using the Routan as its staple in a segment that generally enjoys good sales in the United States.
