The "Fast and Furious" film series will soon have yet another rival Hollywood blockbuster starring loud engines and plenty of horsepower. Although this shouldn't come as much of a shock, it's just been announced that the popular Gran Turismo gaming franchise will soon hit the big screen as a full-length feature film. We've also known for some time that DreamWorks studios will debut its own high-revving blockbuster, "Need for Speed," this November.

Gran Turismo is currently in development at Universal with "Fifty Shades of Grey" producers Mike De Luca and Dana Brunetti on board to get the movie made. While this is all happening, Gran Turismo 6 is expected to debut on PlayStation later this year. No specifics regarding casting have been announced, but we're more interested in the star cars themselves. Along with other films about motorsports, "Rush" and "Snake and Mongoose", due to hit the silver screen in the coming months, it appears Hollywood studios have quite a few gearheads working for them.
