Despite the colossal success of "Furious 7," one particular and very important cast member didn't outright say he'll be back for the next installment of the blockbuster franchise. But now we have our answer. During an interview with Collider, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson had this to say about the future of his character, Hobbs, when asked whether he'll return: "Of course. It can't go on without Hobbs." That's just the first bit of good news here. Johnson also spoke about the possibility of Hobbs getting his own spin-off film.

"We are all interested in it. I just had a big conversation with the studio. So we'll see. I still think for me personally we've created a little of space for him in 7 and the gauge is set for what the audience will want." This isn't the first time a Hobbs spin-off has been mentioned. Apparently, the original idea was to release the movie between Furious 6 and 7, but it didn't come together in time.
