This year’s supercar rally is going carbon neutral for its 15th anniversary.
This weekend, the 15th Gumball 3000 rally will line up in Copenhagen, Denmark, before embarking on a week-long rally across thirteen-countries ending in Monte Carlo. Like every year, there will be plenty of supercar eye-candy on show, but for the first time Gumball 3000 is going carbon neutral. Over 100 supercars are expected to partake in the run and thanks to CNI UK - one of the leading providers in the voluntary carbon offset market - their greenhouse gases emitted over the week will be offset.
So after screaming around Scandinavia and roaring across Russia by day, by night the convoy of gas guzzlers can sleep with a clear environmental conscience. This year is set to be the biggest in Gumball’s history with entrants including Veyrons, a Ferrari F12, Koenigsegg CCXR, Porsche Carrera GT, Mercedes SLR Sterling Moss, Jon Olsson’s Ultima GTR-based Rebellion R2K, a Tumbler replica, a new 2014 Nissan 370Z Nismo, and a collection of chrome-wrapped supercars courtesy of Raccoon Vehicle Wrapping. Gumball 3000 will run from May 18-25, so look for updates of the event over the coming week.
