The 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed saw some of the world's finest performance automobiles storm its hillside track. This Gumpert Apollo, however, didn't quite make it to the top.

On the last day of the Festival, the 4.2-liter twin-turbocharged V8-powered supercar had a bit of trouble to say the least with one of the hill's twisty corners and hit the haystacks at 80 miles per hour. Riding shotgun, passenger Nancy Atkinson Turner says she suffered a bit of whiplash and had some pain and numbness after the accident. "Unfortunately these things happen occasionally and thankfully we are both ok," she posted on YouTube. The German-built supercar is available with anywhere from 650 to 800 horsepower, making it one of the most powerful machines on the road.

Apparently it took the crews about 30 minutes to remove the doors and get Nancy and driver Tony Gilham out of the car uninjured. "The crash caused big delays as hay stacks had to be moved to get the driver out of the car," commented videographer Smitshall123.
