Gumpert Tornante by Touring Superleggera Geneva Preview

Teaser

Now that the 2011 Geneva Motor Show is just around the corner, some automakers are starting to show off previews of what we can expect to see. The newest previews are of the latest creation from Gumpert. Gumpert's supercar is called the Tornante and it has been designed Touring Superleggera. The Tornante is set to go on sale in 2012, and Gumpert describes it as a two-seater coupe that's been designed with efficiency in mind.

The supercar features composite body panels over a light chrome-molybdenum steel space frame and carbon fiber monnocoque, all of which give the Tornante lightness and torsional stiffness. Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 4.2-liter V8 from Audi, and it can produce 700-horsepower. We'll be sure to cover the Gumpert Tornante once it's debuted at the Geneva show.
