We rejoiced when Audi confirmed the RS6 Avant wagon is finally coming to America. This isn't the only hardcore RS model Audi Sport is preparing to unleash, however. In fact, the automaker recently teased no less than six new RS models coming this year. One of the most anticipated new RS models is the flagship RS Q8 that will take on the BMW X6 M and Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 Coupe.

We got our first look at a camouflaged prototype last year, but this is our clearest look yet at the flagship SUV as the camo has been removed from this RS Q8 prototype seen hammering around the Nurburgring. Only a few red accents applied to the exterior cover up its modesty.

With the intrusive camouflage no longer disguising the front, rear, and side profile, we can see the RS Q8 in all its aggressive glory. Large intakes and a giant grille dominate the front, while the profile features aggressive-looking side skirts. At the rear, the RS Q8 is fitted with a massive diffuser and dual oval exhaust tips. Other enhancements will include bigger brakes, unique wheels, and stiffer suspension.

Powering the RS Q8 will be the same twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 from the Lamborghini Urus with mild-hybrid assistance. In the Urus, V8 unit generates 641 horsepower and 626 lb-ft of torque, but rumors suggest it could have as much as 670 horsepower on tap, which will be sent to all four wheels via Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system. If true, the Audi RS Q8 will be Audi's most powerful production car yet.

Audi hasn't confirmed when the RS Q8 will debut. We're hoping to see it at the Frankfurt Auto Show next month. If not, it will debut before the end of the year according to Audi, so the LA Auto Show is another possible venue in November.
