Why wait for the Toyota Supra GRMN to arrive when you can have this?
Since the Toyota GR Supra shares components with the BMW Z4, German aftermarket tuners with experience of extracting more power from BMWs have been able to easily modify the Toyota Supra. AC Schnitzer has already boosted the Toyota Supra's 3.0-liter turbocharged straight-six engine to 400 hp, and now German BMW tuner Dahler has shown off its hot new take on the A80 Supra after modifying the Z4 last year.
As part of its "Toyota GR Supra 3.0i Turbo" package, Dahler is offering two performance upgrades for the Japanese sports car. In stock form, the Toyota GR Supra's 3.0-liter turbocharged straight-six sends 335 horsepower and 365 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic, but Dahler's stage one tuning kit boosts the output to 408 hp and 450 lb-ft of torque.
If that's still not enough power for you, the tuner also offers a stage 2 upgrade the increases the output to 460 hp and 487 lb-ft of torque. We'd love to know how an extra 95 horsepower has affected the 0-62 mph time and top speed, but Dahler hasn't provided any performance specifications. It's probably safe to assume the modified Supra is quicker than the standard car, which will sprint from 0-62 mph in 4.1 seconds and max out at 155 mph.
Other modifications include a stainless steel exhaust system that gives the Supra a more aggressive soundtrack to complement the performance boost, an adjustable competition coilover suspension kit, and lowering springs that bring the car closer to the road for a sportier stance.
A set of lightweight 20-inch forged wheels wrapped in Michelin tires round off the upgrades. The 20-inch wheels can also be upgraded to a 21-inch set.
Dahler hasn't finished tuning the GR Supra yet either, as the tuner plans to sell a Competition Clubsport coilover kit with adjustable height and hardness at low and high speeds and a DDC Plug and Play kit that will increase the car's agility. No pricing details are available, but Dahler is already accepting orders for the Toyota GR Supra 3.0i Turbo to ease the wait for the hardcore Toyota Supra GRMN to arrive.
