Iconic motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson has revealed its first foray into the electric motorcycle market with its Project LiveWire. Created to gauge customer interest and "insight into rider expectations" of an electric Harley, select customers will be given the chance to ride the concept in order to provide feedback. Few details have been made public save for the fact it will boast an LED headlight, touchscreen display and sit on a lightweight frame.

The motorcycle maker said the EV will provide a "visceral riding experience with tire-shredding acceleration and an unmistakable new sound." In addition, Harley-Davidson COO Matt Levatich said "America at its best has always been about reinvention and, like America, Harley-Davidson has reinvented itself many times in our history, with customers leading us every step of the way. Project LiveWire is another exciting, customer-led moment in our history."
