More specifically, the actress who plays her in "Suicide Squad."
Automaker have been long known to sign celebrities and professional athletes to serve as "brand ambassadors," and Nissan is certainly no exception. In fact, we whole heartedly approve of its latest leading lady of choice. Australian actress Margot Robbie, better known as Harley Quinn in the recent "Suicide Squad" and "The Wolf of Wall Street," has just been announced as the new face of Nissan electric vehicle and zero emissions program.
To kick things off, Robbie got behind the wheel (with no special effects or a pro driver, of course; it's movie making after all) of the high-performance, all-electric BladeGlider in the closed street circuit in Monaco at the iconic Fairmont Hairpin.
We gotta admit, it's fun watching her take the 270 hp three-seater through the famous Tunnel, followed by a "race" with another BladeGlider, and ultimately ending up at Casino Square. Nissan calls this a mini-movie. Sure, works for us. "It's a really exciting time for electric vehicles. More people are choosing to go electric, leading the way to a more sustainable future and the Nissan BladeGlider hints at the future of smarter performance cars," Robbie stated. Nissan also says the BladeGlider, which was first revealed as a concept back in 2013, can reportedly go from 0-62 mph in less than five seconds, will be displayed at Geneva next month, and we'll be on hand to check it out. Unfortunately, we're not expecting Ms. Robbie herself to make an appearance.
