What will cars look like without their eyes?

The prospect of being in a car that isn’t controlled by the driver is scary enough. It's even more nerve-racking to think that autonomous cars will zoom through intersections that don’t have stop signs or stop lights, but how much would you trust a self-driving car to take the wheel without using any lights? Using a LIDAR system (Light Detection And Ranging), Ford has just gotten a Fusion to successfully complete a desert driving course at night without a hitch.

We are now one step closer to being driven around in pods with couches and butlers inside.
