And this one-of-a-kind monster is now up for sale.
The colossal, brash Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6 has split opinions since it came out back in 2014, with some labeling it as obnoxious while others deem it as awesome. Nevertheless, the 6x6 has inspired several copycats, including the Kahn Flying Huntsman, which is based on the Land Rover Defender, and two Hennessey-modified vehicles: the Ford Raptor-based VelociRaptor and the Chevy Silverado-based Goliath. But now you can get your hands on an even more exclusive six-wheeler—a 6x6 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon has come up for sale on Craigslist in Huntington Beach, California.
But there’s more, because this Wrangler is not powered by any ordinary engine. Instead, custom shop Wild Boar Off Road, who originally made the customizations for the 2018 SEMA show, have swapped in the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 Hellcat engine. The Hellcat’s 707 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque is more than double what the Wrangler's stock 3.7-liter V6 is able to produce.
Wild Boar Off Road also made several other mechanical changes, with a suspension lift raising the Wrangler five inches and 35-inch knobby tires giving it adequate tread for most off-roading purposes. The Wrangler’s frame has also been lengthened, and Wild Boar added a third axle, as well as a driveshaft and differential for the extra wheels.
Visually, there is modified bodywork, a pickup truck bed, and an external roll cage. A massive lightbar will illuminate any wilderness trail while the beefy bumper should protect the altered grille and “angry” headlights. There are also custom wheels that echo the orange-red color of the bodywork. However, all of these modifications will cost you a hefty sum—the custom shop is asking for a whopping $289,900. Additionally, Wild Boar’s phone number has been disconnected and the company's website is no longer able to be reached. Proceed with caution.
