Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler will celebrate the end of this season's American Idol on May 22 and 23 by taking delivery of a specially made Hennessey Venom GT Spyder. Speaking with Inside Line, John Hennessey said: "This past week I had to choose between building a 10 or 9 second ZL1 or to finish Steven Tyler's Venom GT Spyder in time for the American Idol finale. Steven won and so did LPE on their race to the 10's."

Hennessey is referring to the Lingenfelter Camaro ZL1 that managed to run a 10.935 quarter-mile at 133.66mph after initially posting a time of 11.03 seconds at 130mph. Tyler's black Venom GT Spyder will come equipped with a twin-turbo 7.0-liter V8 with three power settings: 800, 1000, and 1,200hp. It will also have traction control, as well as a custom stereo built by JL audio and a modest black interior with contrasting red stitching. Total cost for the bespoke supercar is $1.1 million.

While focusing on readying Tyler's Venom, Hennessey lost out on being the first to run a 10-second quarter mile in a ZL1. However that hasn't stopped him from getting a car ready that is equally quick. Crucially he said: "they [Lingenfelter] needed race gas to run 10s. We won't."
