Hennessey Takes Chevy SS All the Way to 1,000 HP

If you feel the 415 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque the 2014 Chevy SS manages is simply insufficient, Hennessey Performance has a number of solutions to satiate your needs. The first of a series of upgrades for the sedan is labeled the HPE475. Thanks to new intakes, headers, high-flow catalytic converter and remapped ECU the SS's 6.2-liter V8 is upped to 475 hp. Other packages include the HPE550, HPE600, HPE800 and at the range-topping HPE1000.

Offering 1,000 hp, the package replaces the stock LS3 unit for a 7.0-liter twin-turbo LSX V8 equipped with a new intake manifold, low compression pistons and a Callies 4340 forged steel crank. Additional upgrades include a custom camshaft, stainless-steel exhaust, air-to-air intercooler, upgraded fuel injectors, a new ECU and high-flow air filter. As part of the package Hennessey also includes a dash plaque, exterior badging and a host of options from a CarbonAero body kit to an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel.
