John Hennessey has returned to the site of his 200 mph run in a Corvette Stingray in order to showcase what he has in store for the Chevy SS. Equipped with the HPE600 Supercharged package, the car managed a top speed of 163 mph on the Grand Parkway near Houston, Texas. Details of the upgrade kit have yet to emerge, but the tuning program for the SS will include a remapped ECU, upgraded exhaust and turbo systems, Brembo brakes, new suspension and wheels.

Note that the four-door hit the electronically-limited top speed in fifth gear, and not sixth, and you know that there is a lot more to come from the 6.2-liter V8-powered SS.
