Because obviously the Hellcat needs more power.
The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is an extraordinary car. It doesn’t matter whether you like American automakers or how you feel about muscle cars, because every enthusiast respects the vehicle at some level. Thanks to its supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8 that pumps out a mind-blowing 707 hp, the Challenger Hellcat claims to be the most powerful and the fastest muscle car ever built. While any enthusiast would be more than happy with 707 hp, Hennessey Performance decided to add a pair of turbos to the muscle car for a truly insane amount of power.
That’s right, Hennessey Performance didn’t just tickle the already aggravated engine, the tuning company decided to beat the beehive with a broom. Hennessey Performance offers a host of packages for the Challenger Hellcat, but the range-topping one is the HPE1000, which boosts performance to above 1,000 hp. To be precise, performance has been upped to 1,032 hp and 987 lb-ft of torque thanks to a twin-turbo system that works in tandem with the factory supercharger. As a result of this performance upgrade, the muscle car can get to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds and can complete the quarter mile in 9.9 seconds.
For the few out there that think the Challenger Hellcat is underpowered, Hennessey Performance has created the performance package for you. But you’d better hurry because only 12 muscle cars will get the performance package.
