Hennessey, the Texas-based firm behind the phenomenal Venom F5 hypercar, has unveiled a new supercharged Corvette C8 Stingray called the H700 - and it packs a punch strong enough to take down the Z06.

The company has fitted the LT2 6.2-liter V8 engine with a high-flow centrifugal supercharger and an air induction system with an air-to-water intercooler. The improvements boost power to 708 horsepower and 638 lb-ft of torque, increases of 44% and 37%, respectively, compared to the standard C8 Stingray.

These upgrades make the H700 more powerful than the Corvette Z06, which produces 670 hp and 460 lb-ft. Hennessey also offers an optional enhanced cat-back exhaust. "Our exciting H700 supercharger package integrates seamlessly with the eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and our exhaust upgrade sounds much more aggressive than stock," said CEO John Hennessey.

"Considering that our power and torque surpass the factory Z06, the Hennessey H700 is arguably the best value high-performance supercar in the world," he added.

But it's not just performance upgrades Hennessey bestows upon the Corvette. The package also includes a Hennessey Heritage Livery set, available in black, blue, red, silver, or white. Customers can also choose between 19- or 20-inch lightweight wheels in brushed aluminum, graphite, or satin black finish. The entire package costs $49,950 and is available for 2020 - 2022 C8 Corvette Coupe models.

If you're only looking for the performance, a "power-only" package is priced at a more palatable $34,850. This includes only the supercharger kit.

Customers can order the package via authorized Corvette dealers, and all models receive a three-year/36,000-mile limited warranty, giving you the ultimate combo of piece of mind and performance.

There's no denying it's a lot of money, but if you're an existing Corvette C8 owner looking to upgrade to a Z06, this could be a more affordable alternative. The Z06, as incredible as it is, has become embroiled in nasty dealer markups. We've seen examples selling for as much as $375,000, an absurd markup of more than 200%.

A brand-new Stingray 3LT with the Hennessey package would cost approximately $127,495. That's pricier than an entry-level Z06, but you'll have a more powerful car.

Aside from the supercharged H700 and the halo Venom F5 hypercar, Hennessey offers packages for an array of prominent American vehicles, including the Cadillac Escalade. The tuner has given the luxury SUV 650 hp and 658 lb-ft of torque. Perhaps the Hennessey-fettled Escalade and Corvette would make for the ideal two-car garage for the performance-loving American car enthusiast.
