The Ram 1500 TRX is not exactly a truck that is wanting for much. It's large, so it's got loads of space, and it has a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 developing 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, so it's not short on performance either. But if you're even slightly aware of tuning company Hennessey and its creations, you likely know that excess is viewed as just right. The company is planning to put a Hellephant engine in the truck soon, but as cool as an engine swap is, it's not a great engineering feat, especially when motor mounts don't change. However, Hennessey can engineer its own creations too, and the most insane will be a seven-seater TRX with over 1,000 horses.

The TRX SUV will be a totally bespoke conversion that will be able to "seat seven adults in comfort and is guaranteed to be exclusive with just 20 models being produced." Hennessey says that the conversion will also include first- and second-row captain's chairs, a rear luggage screen, and will retain excellent luggage space behind the third row, although how much exactly will only be revealed once the first example has been produced.

As for performance, Hennessey isn't stuffing the Hellephant engine into this project but rather modifying the existing Hellcat engine. Despite this, the TRX SUV will come with a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty. But you don't care about that, so let's get onto the performance.

The build's engine is characterized by a Mammoth 1000 2.65-liter supercharger with pulley upgrades, high-flow catalytic converters, upgraded injectors, and a new intake system, while the rest of the vehicle boasts a new front bumper with LED lights, a new rear bumper, 20-inch wheels, a front suspension leveling kit, and serial number plaques. Hennessey says you can expect 1,012 hp and 969 lb-ft of torque, as well as a quarter-mile time of just 11.4 seconds. 0-60 mph is quoted at just 3.2 seconds, but as impressive as all these upgrades and claims are, the price is absolutely shocking.

Before any options, taxes, or shipping fees, you'll be paying at least $375,000. The idea of a TRX SUV is cool, but we can think of at least four other vehicles we could buy with that money, including a regular TRX.
