After revealing its intent to take on the Mercedes-AMG 6x6 with its own six-wheeled Velociraptor last year, Texas-tuner Hennessey has announced its plans to showcase the monstrous truck at SEMA next week, where it will be joined by the Bugatti Chiron-beating Venom F5. Under the hood, the Velociraptor 6x6 utilizes the Raptor's 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 that can be left stock with 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque, or upgraded with a twin turbo package, dubbed the 600 Twin Turbo.

Upping output to 600 hp, the performance kit also includes a modified free-flowing stainless steel exhaust, uprated front-mount air-to-air intercooler and remapped ECU. The Mercedes-AMG G63 6x6, by comparison, comes with a 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 producing 536 hp and 560 lb-ft of torque and is able to sprint from zero to 60 mph in less than six seconds. We can't wait to see it in a drag race against the Velociraptor 6x6, which we assume will manage a similar time. Along with a 6x6 drivetrain, the truck gets three locking rear axles, an upgraded Fox suspension, 20-inch wheels wrapped in off-road tires, special heavy duty front and rear bumpers, a roll bar, and auxiliary LED lights.

Optional extras include Brembo brakes, a bespoke interior and armoring systems. Pricing for the VelociRaptor 6x6 starts from $295,000, which includes the base Raptor, while the 600-hp variant will cost an additional $22,500. The 2018 SEMA Show opens its doors next week when we'll have some live shots of this awesome creation to share with you.
