The Hennessey VelociRaptoR 6x6 has arrived, and it's based on the existing Velociraptor 6x6 the American tuner debuted last fall. This new model takes full advantage of the Raptor R's 700-horsepower supercharged 5.2-liter V8.

We've been waiting for this 6x6 since the Ford F-150 Raptor R debuted, and it does not disappoint.

Hennessey has been a kid in a candy shop these past few years with all of the high-powered sports trucks being produced. Ever since the company lent a Velociraptor 600 to Top Gear years ago, the tuned truck market has boomed, spreading across three generations of Raptors, to the insane Mammoth Ram TRX.

The 6x6 trucks are the most ridiculous of the lot, and we mean that in a good way. If you're in the market for a stupidly powerful truck, Hennessey has your back and then some.

The Hennessey VelociRaptoR 6x6 is precisely what its name suggests; a Velociraptor 6x6 with the heart of the Raptor R. This means the vehicle features six-wheel drive, an eight-foot cargo bed, dual locking rear axles, and much more. The goal is to create a truck that would feel just as comfortable crossing the Saraha as it does crossing the Arctic Tundra.

As one would imagine, a lot has changed underneath on a truck nearly 27 feet long and seven feet tall. The vehicle features new front and rear bumpers and a new extended bed. The suspension has been changed to Fox's Live Valve dampers and a three-inch lift to house massive 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 37-inch off-road tires with Brembo stopping power.

The truck is adorned with VelociRaptoR 6x6 badging all around, probably the lightest addition to the truck that now has a curb weight of about 6,500 pounds. Interestingly, the engine was left untouched and continues producing a potent 700 hp and 640 lb-ft of torque. Usually, this wouldn't be an issue, but this trophy truck costs a shocking $499,999. This includes the Raptor R donor car, but that price seems steep even with all the work done. We would have liked an additional 300 horses for a nice round 1,000.

The additional weight will impact the performance, which defeats the purpose of the Raptor R. At least it will make happy V8 noises as it trundles along, absolutely destroying fuel.

If one does decide to buy one of these 6x6 conversions, it will be covered by a comprehensive 3-year/36,000-mile warranty to help give some peace of mind your apocalypse-ready vehicle is well protected.
