The first Hennessey Venom GT sold in the U.S. will be making an appearance at this year's Pebble Beach show.
The first Hennessey Venom GT sold to a U.S. customer will be making an appearance tomorrow (August 17th) at the kickoff event for this year's Pebble Beach weekend. Although the Hennessey Venom GT has already been revealed, it's only been delivered to a customer in the United Arab Emirates and another one in Europe. The car then appeared at Hennessey's Southern California Open House in Lake Forest late last month.
And now, Hennessey's American answer to the Bugatti Veyron is a go in the US market. The 1200hp, $950,000 supercar will be on display this Thursday through Saturday at the Portola Plaza hotel in Monterey. Each unit is extremely rare, with only five cars a year made and it takes six months to build each one. The process is complicated, as the cars are assembled in Hennessey's facilities in Texas, Southern California, and Silverstone, England. The mid-engine supercar weighs just 2,685lbs and "no other car and only a handful of race cars match the power to weight ratio of the Venom GT," according to Mr. Hennessey himself.
"It is a driver's car, a supercar with a soul that will give you as much speed and performance as you dare as of it." The Venom GT can hit 60mph in just 2.2 seconds and has a projected top speed of 262mph.
