Someone messed with Texas. Hennessey replied.
Should anyone really be all that surprised? No, this is Hennessey Performance we’re talking about. From the guy who brought us insane Mustangs, Camaros, and even the occasional Ferrari comes his latest aftermarket project: the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V. Three levels of boosted performance will be on offer: an additional 100 horsepower will be added to the CTS-V’s already impressive 640 hp output. New supercharger pulleys, new cylinder heads, a custom cam, and an intercooler make that possible. Not enough power for you?
There’ll also be a midrange offering that’ll have 800 hp, though no information was provided as to where the additional juice is found. Both those packages come with a three-year/36,000-mile warranty. But the most insane (and wisest) choice is the HPE1000 package. Instead of that supercharger, Hennessey dropped in twin turbos along with new aluminum pistons, forged steel crank and rods, upgraded cylinder heads and an improved fuel system. A few transmission upgrades, obviously, will also happen. This ultimate CTS-V will have a one-year/12,000-mile warranty. Top speed will be about 240 mph and only 24 examples will be built next year. Official pricing wasn’t released. Ahead are Hennessey's renderings compared to stock images of the CTS-V.
