Hennessey's Mammoth 1000 TRX Pickup Truck Gets New Carbon Edition Package

Tuning / 2 Comments

The world's most insane truck gets slightly lighter.

The Hennessey Mammoth 1000 is one of the most outrageous trucks money can buy, and now buyers can opt to make it slightly more special with a new Carbon Edition package from the Texan tuner. This package replaces all of the exterior plastic with carbon fiber, endowing it with an exotic touch akin to supercars more than pickup trucks.

The genuine carbon fiber pieces include the grille, hood scoop, fender and hood vents, headlight and taillight surrounds, and engine cover. It does not include interior accents, as the 2023 Ram 1500 TRX already has those from the factory as part of a $1,295 package. For those worried about carbon being too brittle or yellowing in the sun, Hennessey says the pieces are "lighter, stronger, more chemical resistant, and temperature tolerant than original equipment parts."

Hennessey says the new package can be equipped to any 2021-2023 Mammoth TRX model, including the Mammoth 900 and Mammoth 1000 versions. As a reminder, the Mammoth 900 develops 912 horsepower from its tuned 6.2-liter Supercharged Hemi V8, and the Mammoth 1000 delivers 1,012 hp and 969 lb-ft torque. The carbon kit costs $11,950 and includes a three-year/36,000-mile limited warranty.

That price does not include the actual Ram TRX, which starts at $84,555 before options and delivery. Then there's the Mammoth upgrade package from Hennessey, which brings the total price to around $150,000 before additional extras like the available Overlanding kit for $20,000.

The TRX is a very heavy truck, weighing in at 6,440 pounds stock, so replacing the plastic with carbon fiber isn't going to do much to increase the performance. This is a visual play if nothing else, and we must admit the TRX looks fantastically menacing with all of those carbon accents.

"Our Mammoth TRX has fantastic stage presence because it is massive in stature, incredibly powerful, and its supercharger whine is unmistakable," says John Hennessey, company founder and CEO. "The new Carbon Edition package compliments the truck's already aggressive exterior with a unique sporty flair. The premium carbon-fiber accents are classy, yet subtle - effectively transforming the [TRX] into a much more visually upscale truck while accentuating its rugged appearance."
