Volkswagen unleashed a 400-hp Golf R in concept form at the Beijing Motor Show, while tuning houses MTM and ABT Sportsline have both recently unveiled 360-hp and 370-hp upgrade programs for the German hot hatch. Oettinger is the latest to turn up the heat on the Golf R, adding a larger turbocharger and remapped ECU in order to boost output by 100 hp and 88 lb-ft of torque to 400 hp and 369 lb-ft.

That equates to a 0-62 mph time of 4.0 seconds and top speed of 174 mph. Styling and chassis upgrades have also been made, consisting of a new front spoiler, revised side skirts, a tailgate-mounted spoiler, high-performance brakes, a quad exhaust system and a choice of 19- or 20-inch alloys. Oettinger also offers performance package that ups output to 360 hp and 380 hp.
