It's called boosting production.
Just a couple of weeks after announcing that it would have to restrict orders on its Charger and Challenger SRT Hellcat models due to "unprecedented demand", Dodge gave its fans some good news today: the company announced that it will increase production of the Hellcat models by 1,000 units. Previously, Dodge never announced just how many models it would actually build, and the latest release did not mention how many of the 1,000 units would be Chargers and how many would be Challengers.
Whatever the breakdown, we expect these models to go just as quickly as the previous batch, with buyers lining up to get their hands on these monsters. And who's to blame them? With a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 delivering 707 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque, the Challenger and Charger SRT Hellcats have become the new benchmark for modern American muscle cars. And with 1,000 more units on the road, expect an even greater chance to hear them rumbling around your neighborhood pretty soon.
